Another Year Has Past

This page is dedicated to the memory of my brother, David Wayne Summers who passed away on September 29, 1998 at a young age of 39.

Well, David, another year has come and gone.

I made several trips out to visit you this past year.  I think of you most everyday.  In years past you spoke to me often with words of wit, praise and advise.  But, now your voice grows distant.  Sometimes it is hard to hear you.

I haven't seen much of Shelbi this past year.  She is all grown up now and doesn't have time for us "old folks" anymore.

We went to Knoxville this year.  Everyone had a good time and we all behaved most of the time.  Sammy had broke his hands in an accident a few weeks before the Nationals so he wasn't a factor to win.  I didn't go to the bar a single time.

I got married this year.  Her name is Kathy and you would like her.  She is a racing nut like us.  She thinks she remembers you as "a little scrawny kid".  I told her she was probably right.  I can't remember when I've been this happy.

Kathy's Dad died a couple of months ago.  He is buried about 20 yards to the right of you.  Look him up.  He is a great story teller and likes to fish.  You guys would have a good time together.

Gotta' go for now.  Take care and I'll visit soon.

Dale
