| I was
raised in Milton, Illinois a small farming community 80 miles west of
Springfield. I left Milton for college and then the military. I
was in the United States Marine Corps and was sent to train reservists at the
Marine Aviation Reserve Training Depot in Marietta, Georgia. After
some time in Vietnam, I made Woodstock, Georgia my home from 1967
until 2001. In August of 2001 I moved back to Illinois and married a
high school acquaintance.
I have three children Angie, Ritchie and Reggie. Check out The Family link for more about us. Earliest records show Sir George Summers visiting the Jamestown colony in 1608. My ancestors first visited Illinois around 1822/24. Voting records indicate William Summers voting in the 1824 elections at the Indian Creek precinct. Indian Creek precinct would have included what is Scott County area today. In 1829 William Summers permanently settled in Madison County which split to form several counties including Morgan. In 1839 Morgan split to form Scott County. My ancestors migrated from the Kent County Delaware to Guilford County North Carolina followed the Daniel Boone trail to Sumner County Tennessee and to Logan County Kentucky. From there they migrated to Madison County Illinois.
